GOOD BYE TO EDWARS’S DRIVE IN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, IT HAS CLOSED DOWN.
WITH ALL THE CONDITIONS GOING ON RIGHT NOW IT HAS FORCED THE 50’s THEMED CARHOP RESTAURANT TO CLOSE.
Their mother, Louise Edwards, owns the business, which started with the diner originally opened as a Dog’n Suds Root Beer drive-in back in 1957, and owned and managed by father-son Herb and Tom Edwards. The deal to sell the property at 2126 S. Sherman Drive was signed Monday 1-10-2022, but Edwards would not name the buyer.

My friends and I cruised around that part of town quite a bit. I remember the old hot rods from the 50’s and 60’s we all had back then. Loved to see and hear them cruising around the drive-ins. Sure miss all that.
I sure hate to see this one go. I grew up on the East side of Indy. I never went to Edward’s much but I hate to see anything from the 50’s gone.
