This was a United States Air Force Base called Rhein-Main in Frankfurt, Germany, also called the “Gateway To Europe” because all US Military personel arrived and departed from here.
This was a German Luftwaffe (Air Force) base during World War II, before that it was the home of Zeppelins. In 1945 the American’s captured, rebuilt and utilized it for 60 years, until they closed it on Dec 30, 2005 and gave it back to Germany. The Germans leveled 99% of the base to expand the Frankfurt am Main Flughafen (Airport).
